Social Law

Social Law:

LVU or SoL

If a child is at risk due to inadequate care or the child's own behavior, there is an option to place the child in care involuntarily under the support of the law on the care of young people (LVU), provided that the child has a need for care and the care cannot be provided voluntarily through consent.

We can assist you with the following questions:
What can parents do if their child is taken into care?
Can they appeal the decision?
What are the requirements for foster homes that will take care of children who have been taken into care?
When will the child return to their family, and does the child have a say in the decision?
If your child is placed under LVU (taken into care according to LVU), you have the right to appeal the placement decision.

If you as a parent are at risk of having your child taken into care under LVU, we have extensive experience with LVU and fight for you to get your child back home. We consider the individual's unique needs and tailor our advice accordingly.
